Agb surface @ SNAP

I first heard about SNAP during the Triennial in Tallinn, Estonia when AgB were the representatives for the British section in 1995. I returned to Estonia in 1997 and there was a lot of excitement about a forthcoming symposium at SNAP that was to include a speaker from Estonia called Virge Joekalda as well as presentations from artists from Brazil, Australia and Japan.
I heard about SNAP again later that year when John Hewitt visited Canada and asked Bill Laing about possible venues for an international exhibition. His recommendation to AgB was SNAP and his recommendation to SNAP was AgB, the rest as they say is history, well history in the making anyway!
We are very pleased to be exhibiting in this prestigious venue. AgB have a policy of extending their dialogue within the graphic arts across boundaries technical, physical, virtual and philosophical. Surfacing and extending the surface of graphic fine arts on every level of endeavour.
One of the most important aspects that is recognized by AgB is that collaboration is the key to all our endeavours and without a wider framework we achieve little.
There are, as always, in such collaborations many people to thank and I would like to take this opportunity to extend the thanks of all of us at AgB to Bill Laing, Angus Wyatt and John Hewitt, as usual everyone at AgB contributed in some way, Mikel Horl, Lol Sargent, Brendan Hansbro, Tuula Joutsen, Stephen Mumberson and all those who volunteered their help.
Thanks also to all the rest of the team in Edmonton who have made this exhibition possible and to the Kent Institute of Art & Design for supporting my efforts in this venture.
